EFT Training
in New Zealand

In New Zealand many people are first hear about EFT in the community. They may have watched a friend, or heard someone talk about a change they have made with EFT. Perhaps they read an information leaflet in the Doctor’s surgery. Sometimes a health practitioner teaches basic EFT for a specific purpose, or maybe the first contact was reading about EFT on the Web.

Personal interest groups

Some of my clients have their first EFT experience at a personal interest group. Here are three examples that have a personal interest focus.

  • A short formal presentation made to group of dentists who wanted to know how to deal with Dental Phobia.
  • A half day training for counsellors who want to improve their trauma skills.
  • An informal session for parents who get angry or helpless when confronted by defiant adolescents.

Interest groups of this nature provide a great opportunity for people to get personal experience of the power of EFT. While such groups provide an introduction to EFT, I think of them as a ‘taster’, because they are rarely long enough to include all of the ‘content approved’ criteria for a full Level One training.

Where do I go from here? you may wonder. When people ask me this question I encourage them to use the learning process that works best for them.

You may begin with small group classes, a formal training, or choose some personal EFT sessions and learn by doing. You can also contract for an in-house training that is targetted at your specific work-place or organisation.

Level 1 and Level 2 EFT Trainings in Palmerston North

In New Zealand I teach all three levels of training, as well as classes focussed on specific issues. I suggest that people begin with an approved content, level one training, followed by practise at home. It is helpful to broaden experience through alternative trainings, and then proceed to “approved level two’ in your own time. Level 3 is ideal for people who want to reach mastery in their EFT skills, and who want to fully integrate EFT into their lives and work.

Whatever level of training you have achieved, nothing takes the place of personal ‘felt’ experience, so it is important to practise, practise, practise. You can do this on your own, or set up a ‘buddy’ group. Some people choose to repeat the early levels of training more than once. I believe that repeat attendance at any level is so useful, that I willlingly negotiate a reduced fee for people who choose to repeat.

Alternative trainings

These sessions usually have a specific focus. The learning goal maybe anythingfrom increased sports performance, to having happier children. Alternative trainings provide the opportunity to enhance basic skills, and extend experience. What makes them “alternative’ is that you focus on meeting a specific goal. This specific focus of interest may mean that there is not time to completely teach all of the “approved content” for a particular level. An example could be an eating disorders workshop set up to specially target the many issues involved in eating disorders.

Do check out the alternative trainings section of the emofree.com website. There may be a training that focusses on exactly what you need, be it improving at your favourite sport, fear or phobia busting, or coping with children’s tantrums.

Level 3 Training

This advanced category of training currently covers ‘everything else’ hence at this point in time, there are no specific “approved” content criteria, but there are many possibilities for advanced training.

Regular ongoing training and supervision is a requirement of most Professional Associations in New Zealand, and EFT practitioners that I train regard level 3 workshops as an opportunity for achieving Mastery. I provide small group trainings for ongoing professional development, mentoring, and supervision.

Learn from the Masters

New innovations are regularly featured on the web, contributed by EFT Masters and other experienced EFT practitioners. You will also continue to grow through sharing successes and failures in a supportive group of experienced colleagues.

The next best thing to being there

I highly recommend home study by DVD. You can watch these DVDs over and over again, and keep on learning. Explore from among a selection of DVD sets listed on the official website. Each one contains many video hours of live workshops.
