Do You
Wonder What Happens in an EFT
Session?
My psychotherapy clients make
their appointments by phone,
and we talk together about
what they are looking for.
They usually attend for one
hour face-to-face sessions.
Because EFT is such an important
tool to me, I like to teach
people to use basic EFT at
the beginning. This helps to
calm down their fears and concerns.
Most people like EFT so much,
they choose to apply EFT to
all of the aspects of their
lives.
With EFT, people invariably
resolve fears, phobias, and
mental blocks to motivation.
They may reduce physical pain
and increase physical capacity,
or break through mental barriers
and open themselves to increased
happiness and wellbeing. Clients
often surprise themselves with
previously impossible achievements.
EFT is cost effective, too!
People spend far less time
in therapy than they would
have with conventional psychotherapy
methods.
You Choose The Focus
In one-on-one sessions you
can choose to focus on any
issue that bothers you. You
may have a big problem to resolve,
or you may be looking to make
your life even better than
it is already. The session
is about you, and what you
want. The only criteria is
that in some area of your life
you would like to feel and/or
behave differently.
EFT Small Groups
In Palmerston North I provide
classes for people to learn
EFT and apply it to themselves.
Some participants choose to
use EFT primarily for personal
change or wellbeing, whilst
others go on to use it with
friends and family.
EFT Classes are interactive.
We practice on each other,
using real situations and problems.
This is your opportunity to
resolve some old issues for
yourself, and learn a new skill
at the same time.
The format is relaxed. The
groups are small, with time
taken to build trust and support.
Fees usually cover some email
support in the weeks following
the workshop. You may even
enter into a coaching contract
to ensure you get your new
skills off to a good start.
Making Therapy Safe
Touch
Some people worry about the
tapping process that they
see happening to participants
on the training DVDs. They
are not used to therapists
touching their clients. Some
clients tell me they really
like the practitioner to
tap for them, whilst others
want tap for themselves.
Counsellors and therapists
in New Zealand have ethical
standards that may preclude
personal touch. If you come
to a session with me, I usually
teach you to tap on yourself
from the very beginning, so
that you can continue the process
at home. The choice is yours.
Talk to your practitioner if
you have concerns, or if you
ever become uncomfortable.
Protecting Your Privacy
If you attend a group, you
will be asked to enter into
a commitment not to talk
about group members outside
the group. You may share
your own reactions, and what
you have learned. It is important
to avoid talking at home,
about other participants
or their issues in a way
that might identify them
and cause distress.
Use of video
Many people have valued the
top class video training
material that Gary Craig
so generously markets to
EFT students. Participants
in America have consented
to being filmed, and training
videos have been a significant
factor in helping to spread
the EFT message around the
world.
Videoing this type of training
sessions, even with consent,
is not common practice in New
Zealand. Whilst I deeply value
Gary’s videos for training,
our New Zealand Privacy Act
makes it almost impossible
to film live workshops here.
Please be assured that if ever
I contemplated using a video
camera in any EFT group in
New Zealand, it would be in
a class set up for that specific
purpose. I would expect to
meet some very tight criteria
that would include informed
discussion with each participant
before the training commenced,
and would only proceed on your
written agreement.
Email List
If you would like to be personally
advised of future trainings,
please email
me and ask to
be included on my mail list.
